Celebrity Selfies so Bad They Should Be Banned From Taking More

What is with this hairy armpit revolution that some women have embraced? Madonna, no shrinking violet, joined the movement with this terrible selfie in which she exposed her left armpit to showcase her thick bushy hair. If Madonna wants to display her body hair, she can do so in yet another nude shoot, but who really needs to see her lift up her arm and show her armpit? The tradition has been that women clean-shave their pits, and rugged, rough men let it grow, but the trend is slowly changing, and women are now using armpit hair as a sign of empowerment. Madonna apparently lacks the ‘embarrassment gene,’ so it’s unlikely that she would ever regret taking this selfie, but she should.

It figures that this new armpit hair revolution first began in China, where strange trends and even stranger notions of beauty prevail. It’s a return to natural beauty that Asian women are beginning to champion with a vengeance, and it has spread to the rest of the world, especially the U.S. But it may take awhile before American men are ready to accept that women with bushy pits are attractive. Men have been conditioned for so long to think of women with clean-shaven armpits, so this new trend will encounter some stiff resistance in the hopes that it might just fade away.
