10 Child Stars That Became Extremely Hot

Neil Patrick Harris

Until the 2000s, Harris, 42, was best known for his seminal role as a kid doctor in “Doogie Howser, M.D.” a show that ran from 1989 to 1993. While he was adorable, geeky, and quirky, you wouldn’t have called him a heartthrob in any sense of the word. However, a funny thing happened after puberty, and Howser transformed into a lean, mean, elegant man with a wicked sense of humor, which he displayed for years on the comedy hit show “How I Met Your Mother.” Harris completely wiped away memories of his teen dork days and became one of the best-loved comedy actors on television.

As Barney Stinson on “How I Met Your Mother,” Harris played a classic womanizer, a playboy who refused to settle down and looked on in amusement as his friends struggled in their relationships. Harris has earned eight Emmy Award nominations, and won four trophies. He has also hosted the Tony Awards and is developing his own primetime variety series.
